That's right. We are officially gardner's now. We have a garden. We finished our first project in our backyard. We build a small retaining wall to block off the garden area along the fence line of our backyard. We brought in a truck load of some new top soil and planted some tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, peppers and pumpkins. Now we just have to baby them for a few months, with water, fertilizer, wedding, etc.... and then we can enjoy all the fresh veggies!
T was a big help too. He has been wearing this cowboy hat that he found in some of our storage. he loves it. I guess all that country music that the wifey listens to is paying off, ha. The patio is our next project that we want to get done within a month or so. Wish us luck!

Home Sweet Home
There are certain things in your life that happen and they make you feel like a grown up. For example, when I finally graduated college, I felt so grown up. Then I got married and felt grown up again. Then we had a baby and started a family, and now we own a house! That is a very grown up thing to do. I am a grown up now. We are grown ups now. We have even more responsibility now and try to act like grown ups, but in reality we just want to eat cold cereal, ice cream and candy and watch tv, ha!
So..... we are in our new house and love it! The move went really well, thanks to all those who helped us. We only got a couple dings on those newly painted walls too. Baby T is getting adjusted to his new room and I think he likes to sleep in his own crib again. And we opened 2 boxes of toys that were in storage and they seem brand new to him. We are still waiting for a few things in the house, like a refrigerator! (this is a whole story in itself, let's just say Home Depot has lost some major points in my book) The blinds are coming soon, we need to sew the curtains, install the microwave, etc.....etc.... We have a few other projects that we want to do to, just refinishing some wood tables, bar stools and stuff like that. Nothing major, just fun projects to do.
Other than that, we are happy here. We have a front lawn now too, with grass and T loves to ride his bikes around the driveway and sidewalk. Some of the simple things in the house make me so happy. I love the seamless sink that we chose, and our new couch is beyond comfortable, and we got a girll from uncle Gary, thanks! So, let the bbq season begin and come on by and visit!

House Update #13
Our new casa is pretty much done! All of the carpet is finally in and let me tell you that I love the smell of new carpet! Love it! The only thing is the front yard needs sod laid, but since it has been raining pretty much everyday, they haven't done it yet. Hopefully this week before we close. We bought our own refrigerator and microwave that will be installed soon too. We have our final walk thru this week and then we can close!! It is so exciting. It has only been 3 months since they started to build, it seriously flew by and our first home is begging for us to move in already.
I can't wait to put our furniture in our house and sleep in our bed! It will be awesome! Here are some pics of some of the house. There will still be plenty of things to do once we move in, but we are beyond excited for this next phase in our lives. I will post some pics once we get all of our stuff moved in. It might take a while since we have moved so much, we have stuff in 4 different places from SLC to Mapleton, ha!

House Update #12
Blogger has been having some issues lately and the website has been down, so annoying! Anywho, they deleted my last post from yesterday about the house, so here are the pics that were deleted.
I am sure that I had some clever remarks to say about the house update, but I can not remember what they were. So just look at the pics and see the progress that has been made.

House Update #11
The kitchen is really coming together and we love it! It looks so good! The counter tops and sink went in and so did the flooring. It's a dark and rich brown wood floor (although it's very dirty in the picture) and it compliments the maple white cabinets, we love it!
The toilets are in and so are the other bathroom fixtures. They are touching up the walls, finishing the exterior, starting to landscape and finish the front porch and balcony. Let the countdown continue.......

Update #10
These updates are quickly coming to an end. The house look so good and it will be done so soon! The kitchen cabinets are in and we love them!! They are so fresh and crisp and the counter tops will go in this week too. I am most excited for our kitchen sink, ha! All of the lighting fixtures are in and the plumbing will be done this week and then they will finish the flooring, (carpet and wood) finishing the exterior stucco, build a balcony, front steps, patio, a retaining wall, landscaping the front yard, and a few (well.... maybe a hundred) small things to finish the house off.
We are so close though, maybe 3'ish more weeks until we get the keys! Check out the pics:

House Update #9
This week they have finished painting all of the interior ceiling and walls. They are almost done with the base boards and door trim too, while all the doors are being hung. The tile has been laid in the bathrooms and laundry room and we now have a garage door too! It's coming together.
I was in there the other night taking some measurements for some window treatments and it really started to feel like home. I could picture our furniture and everything on the main floor and it made me smile! We will finally have a home, a real home that we can call ours. It's so awesome! We also found out that one of our new neighbors is a brother of a cousin, so cool! Anyways, back to the window treatments, we are wanting to make curtains for 2 of the big windows in the dining room and living room that lookout south and need some inspiration for this. We have the material and now need to figure out what we want exactly and what is most functional for us. As for the other windows, we will figure it out once we get in the house and see if we have any money to spare, ha!
As usual, here are some iphone pics:

House Update #8
Can you believe that we have already posted 8 house updates? The house will be done in just over a month! How crazy is that? It is moving along so fast, maybe too fast! We are saving every dollar to put down on the house and it will be so worth it!! We are just finishing the paper work for the mortgage, insurance, interest rate, etc.... it is all coming together!
The outside is coming along now. Apparently they do a couple layers of the stucco on the outside. They put in the tile in all of the bathrooms and laundry room. And they are starting to hang all the doors, paint and put up the molding, trim, base boards, etc..... A few people have commented on how large the house looks. It isn't that big, it just looks high and large because there aren't many other houses around it and the lot slopes. Plus, we are downsizing from what we live in right now. You should see our sweet basement accommodations. We are living in 3,000+ sq. ft right now (thanks to G+G) and down sizing to 2500+. Ha. It will be plenty of space for us to continue our lives and let our family grow there. Plus, once there are other houses built around ours it will fit in perfectly. Just you wait and see.
Just in case any of you readers still care, here are a few pics. These were taken a few days ago and it has already changed. But you get the idea.

Update #7
I love driving by the house on my way home from work. It is amazing to see how much can get done on a daily basis. The inside is ready for paint, already! And to start the other finishes.
Now, they are starting on the outside of the house. They have the scaffolding up and are ready to go on the brick and stucco. We chose a red'ish colored brick and a green stucco color. It will look awesome.....we hope!
Here are a few pics that I took on the handy iphone. Enjoy!
And have a good weekend.
