That's right. We are officially gardner's now. We have a garden. We finished our first project in our backyard. We build a small retaining wall to block off the garden area along the fence line of our backyard. We brought in a truck load of some new top soil and planted some tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, peppers and pumpkins. Now we just have to baby them for a few months, with water, fertilizer, wedding, etc.... and then we can enjoy all the fresh veggies!
T was a big help too. He has been wearing this cowboy hat that he found in some of our storage. he loves it. I guess all that country music that the wifey listens to is paying off, ha. The patio is our next project that we want to get done within a month or so. Wish us luck!

The Backyard continues
We are still trying to figure out our backyard and what we should do. After speaking with lots of landscapers and getting some estimates, etc.... we might just keep it simple and easy. We know we want a patio, garden, grass and sprinklers for sure. We will add trees and plants, etc...... throughout the summer and then in the future we can change things if we need/want to. I like to keep things easy and simple in my life, and so the backyard will be the same. And since we are doing the work ourselves, it just make sense.

Home Ownership
We own a home. We feel like grown ups, but sometimes act like children. We are still working to get things done around the house, and I am wishing we had some extra money to buy a few extra things for the new house. But, alas, they will have to wait. In the meantime, we (mainly the wifey + helping friends) have been painting a few items for the house, accessorizing and many other things.
I, on the other hand purchased a hose and shovel the other day from Lowe's. (I am boycotting Home Depot for awhile because of our fridge catastrophe). I like to work outside in the warm weather, I enjoy yard work, I really do. Most people hate it, but I love it. I love to see the changes and what a difference a little work can do. My next purchase will be some flowers, bushes or any type of shrubbery for that matter. Our poor flower beds could use some color in them. The front of our house faces north and doesn't get that much sun throughout the day. So... I need to search for items that will stay alive there. Send any suggestions my way if you have a green thumb and would like to share, until then I will be working directly with HGTV for tips.
I promise to post pics of the interior once the rooms are a little more finished. You will just have to be patient with me.

this year we planted tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, carrots, peas and zucchini. now bring on the harvest!
uncle derek was also in town from la la land for the weekend, so we spend the evening with him. turner was pleased.
i was a little disappointed though because we finally finished planting our garden over the weekend, and now this! i hope it doesn't kill anything off. we got some nice flowers put in the front yard too.
