Making $
Since Turner started playing basketball, he also took on a fond appreciation for nice basketball shoes. With that being said, he was drawn towards what I think are expensive shoes. Now I am all for helping my kids out, but when they grow so fast and need new shoes and clothes every few months, it makes it hard to purchase some expensive items, ha!
With that being said, We agreed to pay for a certain amount for new basketball shoes for Turner. If he wanted a pair of shoes that was more expensive that this amount, then he would have to come up with the difference. So what did he do? He started collecting the cans and bottles and turned them in at the recycling center for money. He got his grandparents, cousins, uncle and friends to join in and they all bring him bags of cans and bottles every so often. He gather them all together, sorts them and then takes them to the recycling center and gets his cash. It has worked out pretty well for him and was able to purchase a couple pairs of new shoes over the past year, and he even opened a savings account at the bank as well. Here's to growing up and trying to teach your kids valuable lessons! Keep up the good work Mr. T.

Annual Work Party
Last weekend was my annual work holiday party! It was a pretty fun night. Lots of work before hand, but it all went well and the staff had a great time! We had about 230 people there this year. Dinner, dancing, awards, drinks and desserts! A successful evening to celebrate all of their hard work!

Company Picnic
Last weekend my work had a fun company picnic at a park in Sacramento. The kiddos had a great time! We had a taco truck, drinks, churros, sno cones, cotton candy, t-shirts, face painting and games for the kiddos with prizes! We had quite a few people come through and visit and we had a great time overall.

Sacramento Walk to End Alzheimer's
We were able to attend the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's in Sacramento this year. It was a huge event! They had over 2,000+ people there. It was at the Capital in downtown Sacramento and was a fun event. My work had a team there and about 25 of us walked with thousands of other people. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning.

SCHWINN BIKES
Our family was chosen by Schwinn Bicycles to be Ambassadors for 2017! We all got brand new bikes + helmets and we have to post some pictures online throughout the year, pretty cool, huh? We had all of the bikes put together at a local bike shop and we took our first bike ride as a family last weekend. We each got to choose our bike and they seem to fit our personalities just perfectly! I am sure we will have plenty of miles on these bikes by the end of the year!
