Baby D

Well, she really isn't much of a baby these days.  She is growing like a weed and has the attitude and personality to go with it.  She is so full of like and has something to say about everything and everyone.  She will point and then talk and we can barely understand what she is saying, but she has a lot to say. 
She loves to follow her big brother around and do whatever he is doing.  She doesn't care that she is younger and smaller, she will still try and do it.  She loves to wave at people and start talking to them too.  She gets tan quite easily and her hair is getting lighter everyday, especially since she spends so much time outside. 
I am counting down the weeks until she can go to nursery, only about 3 more!  Wahoo!  I am sure she will cause some ruckus in the nursery, ha.  She will be excited to go.  We sure to love baby D.  It's never a boring day with her and toddler T around. 

5 Months Old

I posted this pic on Instagram the other day and captioned it as #4monthsalready Hello!  She is already 5 months, either I have fat fingers, or the time is just flying by.  Either way, baby D is already 5 months old!!

She  is beefin' up everyday and loves to roll all over the floor and put everything in her mouth.  She is at the stage where you can't hold her and eat.  She has to grab everything in front of her and suck on it.  She drools non stop and has cheeks you just want to squeeze and kiss all the time!!  She is almost sitting up on her own.  Still learning how to control that (big) head of hers.  She loved being out and about last weekend in Reno.  She loved the downtown life, ha!  Everybody was staring at us because we had a baby with us downtown late at night and we were staring at everyone else because they were dressed up like super heroes, ha.  Good times.  It was a fun night!

Baby D really is a great baby!  She is so happy and loves attention.  She just wants someone to look at her and smile and talk to her.  She smiles a lot and even started laughing when toddler T is funny. She loves it, we love it, and we love her!  So here's to baby D, growing up way too fast!

2 Months

Baby D is already 2 months!  Can you believe it?  Where does the time go?  She is growing and changing everyday, seriously she is.  It's weird.  I forgot how small they are when they are first born and how much they grow.  I swear I leave for work, come home that night and she looks bigger and a little more grown up.

She loves it when you tickle her cheeks, it makes her smile.  She is quite the eater and knows how to really chow down.  She loves her swing and to suck on her hands lately.  We started putting her in the Bumbo (I like to call it a Bimbo chair though) chair and she loves it.  It is great having a little girl around our house. T is also a great big brother who just really wants her to be bigger so she will play basket ball with him in the basement, ha!  Soon enough she  will be able to. 

Baby D Pics

I love the smell of a new born baby when you bring them home.  They are so fresh and clean.  Their skin is so soft, well for a few days.  Then the dry Utah air hits it and it turns red and blotchy, and and sometime a little baby acne is there too.  She is still cute though and we couldn't resist taking some pics in her little beanie and booties in black and white. 

I forgot how small babies are when you bring them home.  They are tiny, and T seems like a giant now.  T use to be our baby, but not any more.  They are just growing up too fast!  Another thing is the diapers. Their diapers are so small but they grow out of them so fast!  Please slow down so we can enjoy everyday! 

Baby blankets

Baby D is lucky enough to have many talented grandma's, cousins, friends, etc.... because she got hooked up with some pretty cool blankets.  We got all different colors and sizes that have already gotten tons of use.

Thank you talented people for sharing your sewing skills with us, we appreciate it!  And hopefully baby D will have some of these skills too since her parents obviously don't, ha! Below are the blankets on display in Darla's nursery. 

Baby D Nursery

We weren't planning on doing that much stuff to the nursery, but the wifey's friends decided to help out and I think it turner out pretty good. Just see for yourself.  We also picked up a chair at Ikea last weekend that is not pictured to finish off the room. 

Now we just need baby D to actually sleep in here, ha!  No, I feel like they need to sleep close to their mama for the first couple weeks because they want to eat so often!  Might as well save the energy from getting up and down and going to her room across the hall, am I right?!  We are loving are new family member though and it feels good to be a family of 4. 

Home Sweet Home

We have been home for quite some time now and baby D loves it!  She is eating like a champ and sleeping like a champ. Toddler T on the other hand had a couple rough nights adjusting to out new family and the changes that come with it.  He is doing a lot better now and asks to hold baby D at least once a day, it's nice.

Visitors

Thank you friends and family for all of the support!  We really appreciate it, we really do!  We love seeing you and thanks for the thoughtful flowers, candy, food, treats, etc..... if you still want to meet baby Darla then come on by.  We are at home now and are loving our new family of 4.
