Double Digits!

Turner had another birthday and it now 10 years old! I have a son who is in the double digits....so weird! We had a fun time celebrating with family.  His sisters made him a birthday banner sign, we ate steak and cheesy potatoes for dinner with an oreo ice cream cake for dessert!  It was a great way to celebrate a 10 year old!  He is planning a basketball birthday party with his friends in a couple weeks!  Happy Birthday Turner!

All Star Basketball Game

Turner was on his league all star team this year and they had a game last weekend!  He was so excited to be a part of the team and had a good game even though they lost.  He got a medal and enjoyed playing in another basketball game!

Happy Birthday Turner

I can't believe I have a 9 year old son! To celebrate he took cupcakes to his class in school and then we celebrated his birthday and his grandpa's 60th birthday in Reno surrounded with family and cousins! He got to play sports all day, have 2 kinds of cake and open presents.  It was a day well spent!

He is such a toddler

Toddler T is most definitely a toddler these days.  It is nice to have him potty trained but he can throw a fit (sometimes) like it's his job.  Time outs are taking place (often) and we are teaching him to talk to us in his big boy voice, instead of his whiny baby voice.  Ha.

He is a great big brother though and loves to play with his toys and asks when baby D will be big enough to play basketball with him in the basement, ha!  That will be the day for him.  I am sure he sick of shooting hoops with his mom and dad, but soon enough you will have a buddy in the basement with you.

PS- I just realized that T is wearing this shirt is most of the photos that I post.  He does have other t-shirt, I promise.  This one just must be his favorite that gets washed far too often.  Thanks Target!

Baby T Updates

He is 20 months now and is growling like a weed!  His hair is super blond and he has little curls on the back and above his ears.  I had the curls too when I was that age.  He loves to be outside and that just makes his hair even lighter.  He has a couple little bikes and tricycles that he loves to ride around outside up and down the sidewalk on our street.  He loves to play in the backyard (keep in mind it's just dirt and rocks) and throw rocks off the edge, dig in the dirt, etc....

After all of the boating over the weekend, T woke up the other morning and asked mom over and over again to put the life jacket on him.  She did and he wore it all morning long, ha!

He plays really hard, and apparently does not get enough sleep because he fell asleep in his mom's arms and ended up on floor for a morning nap.

He  knows if he is left out too.  If we all have cups, then he wants one too. He is very aware of
his surroundings and what is going on.

He loves to play in the water and recently discovered that he could run thru the sprinklers
to cool down quite a bit.

One of his bikes that he loves to ride.  Although, he refuses to put his feet on the pedals.  They reach and all,
but he just runs his little legs super fast and pushes himself.

He still loves his basketballs (well all balls) and we dress him accordingly
(Thanks to the Pratt's)

He is talking more and more and we are actually starting to understand what he is saying sometimes.  He has a mouth on him and is very verbal all the time.  If you don't understand what he is saying then he will grab your finger and direct to whatever he is talking about, it's pretty funny.  He is funny and he love having him around.

Easter 2011

Don't you just love Easter? We sure do. You get to take the extra time to reflect on Christ and what he has done for you in your life. It's a great celebration. And hunting for eggs and candy is just an added bonus.

This year we celebrated In Reno with the Challis family. We had a great time. Ate tons of good food, tons of good candy, saw a couple movies, dyed easter eggs, did a session at the Reno Temple and Turner played and played. He loved all of the candy but didn't get the egg hunt. When he found an egg he would open it and want to eat the candy before he went to find another one. So funny!

He found his little basket with some candy, a swimsuit, sandals, another basketball hoop, and a pull suitcase from gma. He is obsessed with pulling that suitcase all over the place. Funny kid.

lately....

we have just been living our life, like we should.  we had a bbq with friends on monday night (hopefully the first of many)  to finish off this season of the bachelor.  they were really good burgers, we added cheese, bacon, avocado, peppers, etc.....  so yummy with chips, beans, lemonade and heidi's cookies of course.

mr. brad womack chose emily, which is who we were voting for, but she can do better than brad. hopefully it will work out for them, although it most likely won't.

i got my ncaa bracket(s) done, and can't wait for the march madness to begin.  who do you have going all the way? we watched the mountain west tournament over the last weekend and were disappointed with byu's loss, but come on.  can you really beat the same team 3x in one season?  good game though, and even turner loved it.  he seriously stood watching the bball game for over 10 minutes.  i guess he is a jimmer fan like the rest of us. i wish i could have been in las vegas with the family, like in previous years.

we are still running and training and love this warmer weather, it was 58 degrees this morning at 7 am when i left for work.  is spring really here?

we have also been spending time at the park by our house.

and his bath time.

16 months....almost

can you believe that baby turner is 16 months next week?  i guess he isn't a baby anymore.  he acts more like a toddler everyday, just seeking a new adventure.  he is so much fun to have around right now.  he loves to sing, dance, and talk baby jibberish.  it is funny.  you can ask him a question and he just talks randomness..... he loves to shoot the basketball, build towers and knock them over and to do anything outside.

we need to get that binky out of his mouth though.  he might like it a little too much, along with his blankie that he has to have to sleep.  what a baby!
he had a dr. appt this week to get some more shots and here are his stats:

height - 32.28 in.
weight - 23 lbs.

he is a growing boy who goes in random spurts of eating and sleeping.  some meals he just chows down and eats everything, while other meals he just wants to drink juice or milk.  he also has been sleeping in some days which is nice on the weekends for us too.

here's to growing up!  enjoy the weekend friends and family.

happy friday!  the weekend is almost here!  to celebrate, here is a little video clip of turner dancing for his friends and family while he was in reno last week.

he is kind of a show off who apparently loves to move his little body around and do all sorts of things.
now go do something fun this weekend, and we will post the wedding pics soon!

the rose bowl parade

while in ca, the hart family was nice enough to take us to the rose bowl parade in pasadena, ca.  it was a cool experience.  all of the floats were above and beyond most parades.  and did you know that they are all made of flowers and only natural materials?  it's pretty cool.  tons of people were there celebrating and turner loved it, well for the first 20 minutes we sat on my shoulders and clapped and laughed at the floats and people and especially animals that he saw.  he is obsessed with animals!

wisconsin played tcu in the game later that day and tcu barely pulled it off!  overall we had a good time and it was a fun experience.

buddhist temple

while in california, we made a pit stop at the hsi lai buddhist temple.  it was very cool and interesting.  there were tons of people there and the temple itself was quite large.  just see for yourself:

the iphone seems to be taking over on our pictures lately, they really are quite handy.  someday i will have a great new fancy camera and then show those off.  someday..........
