We're here.

We drove over 500 miles, drank way too many sodas, ate sun flower seeds non stop and we made it to Utah. Thats right, moving day was a success. It was a long weekend but it was successful one.















We have yet to unpack and get settled in, but it will happen soon enough. We had a wonderful family dinner and even got to celebrate little Jeffs 7th birthday! Feels good to be back in Utah and we have missed those mountain views. Let the next adventure begin.

the news

we have been putting this post off because we have mixed feelings about it all.....but we are moving back to utah.....this weekend actually!  we have a job, a good job and unfortunately it is moving us back to slc, utah.  we have mixed feelings about the situation because we really like it here in colorado and have met some good people, love our ward, neighborhood, etc..... and have some fun friends out here.  we have enjoyed our time here and will want to come back and visit.  we knew there was a possibility of moving back to utah and it sure did come fast!  our time here in denver just flew right by, but we have enjoyed it all. 

the one good thing about moving back is that we can finally buy a house and actually try to settle down.  well as much as i can settle down. (i like change)  plus house hunting is so fun!  i should try to get us on the hgtv show, huh?!  we will probably just be sleeping around (ha?!)  until we find a permanent placed to call ours.

goodbye colorado and hello again utah!  i guess we can now be the 'salt lake city slickers' again, since we never did get around to changing our blog name, oh well.  we shall see you soon utah friends and family.  it should be a busy weekend of packing, moving, driving, etc....etc.....  so wish us luck!

downtown denver aquarium

last saturday he headed downtown with some of our friends in the ward to visit the downtown aquarium. 
we had an awesome time and turner loved it!!  as soon as we walked in he started making all sorts of noises and flailing his arms all over the place, it was funny!  there were some of his friends there that also had a good time.  they had sting rays at the end that you can touch and turner touched them.  he was a little freaked out, but did it multiple times.  he really just want to get in all the tanks of water and play/swim.  it was a great way to spend a saturday afternoon. 

finally some snow in the CO

it snowed, it snowed a lot yesterday!  it finally feels like winter and there is a thick white blanket over everything, i love it, nat on the other hand not so much.  when we woke up on sunday, there was maybe an inch on the ground.  we got ready for church and it started snowing more and more.  on a side note, church starts at 11 am now and baby T does not like the new change.  he usually takes a morning nap around 10:30 or 11 and then takes another one later in the afternoon.  he did not cooperate at all, ha!  he just wanted a nap for all 3 hours of church and he refuses to sleep in your arms.  he needs his 'blankie' (which could be a whole post on it own) and he likes to be swaddled still.  how funny is that?  we wrap him up every night still.  ha. 

the snow kept falling and falling during church and for the rest of the day.  we drove up to pine with marylynn to have dinner at dan and jannie's, and the roads were slick but the AWD took care of things.  the meal was delicious and so were all of the caramels, chocolates, brownies, etc....  so worth it!  we love having sunday dinners up in the mountains with family!

we had a fun weekend too.  we went to the aquarium downtown on saturday with some friends in our ward and turner loved it!  i will post some pics later.  enjoy your monday and enjoy the snow!

since living here in colorado we have loved being able to try all new restaurants.  below are some of our favorites.  click on the name to see their websites, locations, menus, etc....

hog heaven - excellent bar-b-que with awesome ribs!!  first place we ate at here in colorado.  it is located up in the mountains in bailey. 

fat burger - located right next to our house, the burgers are well, fat and the fries are crispy. 

tokyo joes - also located right by our house, they have an awesome peanut sauce that goes well with their fresh veggies! you pick the meat, rice/noodles, sauce and all the veggies that you want, delicious!

grand lux cafe - located in the park meadows area.  they have a wide variety on the menu and their brunch is amazing!! 

joy asian bistro - we just ate here last night and of course did the all you can eat sushi.  they have excellent rolls, oysters and scallops with a cozy atmosphere and awesome service. 

tres margaritas - this is our favorite mexican place here.  we go often and will miss their burrito loco and their mushroom salsa. 

lansdowne arms - a cool little pub by our house that we went with my parents.  everything we ordered was delicious and we want to go back. 

firehouse subs - we have been here multiple times and still love their sandwiches.  you can have them hot or cold and you will leave with a full tummy. 

beau jo's - their pizza is good and we loving dunking the crusts in the honey.  we like going to the one in evergreen so we can pick up some fudge afterwards. 

and the list could go on and on, but i think you get the point.

christmas day

christmas was awesome!  i remember growing up, coming up the stairs to see what santa had brought and kenny g would always be playing in the background.  although we were not at home this year, kenny g was still playing, it made me smile! 

the kids (and adults) all had a great time.  lots of fun presents were opened and given and turner loves his new toys and cars and trucks.  he also got some sweet new nike's.  we hope everyone had a great christmas!!

Christmas Eve

We are in the rocky mountains, past Conifer by a small town called Pine. Aunt Jannie and Uncle Dan live here and cousins and friends are also near.

We had a fun party this evening. There was tons of good food and dessert. The kids put on a talent show while we all cheered and laughed. The kids all got new jammies and the presents are wrapped and ready to go for the morning.

Turner and cousin Jane were Santa and Mrs. Claus. They looked adorable. Just see for yourself. Merry Christmas to all!! And Goonight from Colorado.

baby santa

how awesome are these pictures?  apparently we have a tradition to buy a santa suit for turner every year.  he wore one last year to the neck n nog party and this year we found another one at babies r us for 6 bucks, we had to buy it!  we even bought a mrs. claus dress and hat for his double cousin jane.  they will be celebrating christmas together and we will for sure get some pics of the holiday couple.  ha.

most of our christmas stuff is in storage, so some friends let us borrow their little extra tree and then natalie had the genius idea to buy a pink feathered tree.  her grandma use to have one when she was younger.  i was a little skeptical about it, but now i kinda like it.  we bought one for cousin 'perla' too since her and natalie are so much alike. 

so we have a his and her tree this year in our front room.  i think they look pretty darn good, don't you??
