home sweet home

that's what we will call this lot in about 4-5 months!!  can you picture our first house here?  apparently we can, cause we are going to build on it. 

so, after looking at many houses, making a couple offers, comparing prices, size of houses, neighborhoods, school districts, etc..... we have decided to build a new house! why not?  right?  it is the same price as the houses we were making offers on, but this way it will be brand new and have some of our finishes on it that we can choose.  and there will still be a few projects for us to work on once we close.  (like landscaping the backyard).   

we met with our contractor this week, the plans have been approved by the city and the HOA, so they are starting to dig out the basement this week and then all of the fun will start.  we are excited and anxious to get this project started and once summer arrives we can move in and finally start to settle down a little.  is that even possible though?  hmmmm......we shall see. 

i am sure we will post way too many photos on here of the progress of the house, so we apologize in advance.  it will be more for our memory than yours.  but pictures are always good.  wish us luck and send any words of advice/tips, etc..... our way.
