Married Couples Dating?

I know this seems like a weird title, but think about it....It really is difficult to find that perfect other couple where both you and your wife like the other husband his wife. (and it becomes even more difficult when they have kids).  It's a difficult thing and when you find that couple that you all 'click' with, then you will know it.

We have moved around a lot since we have been married and as fellow married couples I am sure that you have been there too.  A couple will invite you over for dinner and you don't know them that well, but you go because it's a free meal.  You show up, not sure what to expect and basically you will either 'click' and have a great time where the evening ends in planning a vacation together that coming summer, or your wife will connect with the other wife, but her husband it the complete opposite of you and just wants to talk about video games.  Or sometimes I would 'click' with the other husband and would plan to run a marathon and train together, yet the wife is struggling to keep a good face on as the other wife is discussing her crafty apron that took her 2 weeks to make.......geesh!  It can get really confusing and frustrating.  Come on, you know you have been there.  I assume that once you have more kids, it will be even more difficult....... Ok, you get the point, right?!  Is anyone on the same page as me on this or what?

So let the couple dating continue......as it is an on going process.  At least you meet new people and once in a while come back with an awesome story to tell.

At least I 'clicked' with my wifey!

YES! Totally. We finally found THAT couple that we were BFF with...for a few years. But they just moved to SLC for jobs. Which, you know, isn't THAT far...but is too far for "Hey, want to come over in 10 minutes for dinner and games?" It's so hard to find matching couples. HA...you should make a match.com-ish version to find that perfect couple! Genius!

so true! Dave and I talk about this All the time! Totally the same as dating. After an evening together, I say, "so, how'd it go? Do you wanna ask them out again?" So true! Good luck finding your soulmates :)

Ha ha ha ha ha. That is so funny and so true! Add on to that living far away from family and those friends literally become the people that you spend holidays with, trade baby sitting, and the "emergency contacts" in your life. It is such a big role and no one talks about it enough. Luckily in all the places we've lived we've been able to find those friends, but Mike and I were just lamenting that moving so much (the million or so times that we will) it is risky that maybe one time we won't find those perfect friends. AUGH! Seriously terrifying thought.

Funny you should mention this.... we've always had a favorite friend couple or family our whole marriage and we haven't had on the last year or so. We can't agree on a couple right now!
