we finished
yes!
I did it! I finished the SLC marathon last Saturday. I finished under 4 hours, (which is what my goal was) pulling through the finish line at 3:53:24. There were over 11,000 participants in the race and I honestly felt pretty good the entire time. Coming up that small hill on State Street towards South Temple was pretty bad though. That was right at mile 24-25. My dad did the 1/2 Marathon and finished right at 2 hours. Overall, it was a great experience and I have just been recovering from the sore legs. I think I will do another one in the future, and recommend that everyone does at least 1 marathon during their life. It is the greatest feeling ever coming across that finish line. I could have sat and watched everyone come across the finish line, it is a moment of pure bliss! After a few days I will be back at it running more often.

Amazing! Great job! Maybe one day...these kids make it hard to find time to train...
Awesome job! I agree you should do one in your life . . .but only one :) I am proud of you and that is impressive that you felt good the whole time. The last three miles for me are like walking through sand up to my hips . . .If you are up for a 1/2 marathon sometime, I'd love to run with you!

I agree, it's a GREAT thing to do once, but probably not ever again. I'd do a half though. We should make it a cousin half marathon in August! Mandatory fun. I'll instigate it. (I'm serious)
wow good for you, that is quite an accomplishment! I bet you felt so good! Good job on making your goal!
I thought about you as I had to drive down 21st south then park my car and walk to the Albertson's right there because I couldn't drive the across the street because you guys were running blocking all kinds of roads in SLC. :) I'm so glad you finished. FABULOUS JOB!! You inspire me!
